There are many products on the market that advertise themselves to be for “all hair types” but in reality they only work on one or two types/textures. Moroccan Oil happens to be that one product that didn’t lie, making it our product of the month.

Since I am all N A T U R A L now it’s only right that I throw all my old products away and treat myself to new ones. I’ve been on Naturally Curly a lot this week researching what type of products my 4a hair needs. I’m not the type to splurge hundreds of dollars on products to only find none of them work. It was very important that I read as much as I could on this site, from products users, to those transitioning, from the staff’s recommended and on the actual products themselves before I purchased anything. I came across six products that I love and have used a bit in the past when I tried to transition before.
I have two words for Elucence Moisture Benefit Shampoo: Simply Amazing! My hair can be a bit dry, I knew my hair was going to need a shampoo that really moisturizes and cleanses at the same time. This shampoo does the job, it has a nice peachy smell and is really concentrated. All you need is a pea-sized amount and watch how much it lathers. Once you rinse, run your fingers through your hair and notice how good it feels.
I shampoo my hair twice weekly, alternating between Elucence and DevaCurl Low-Poo Shampoo. I must admit I was a little iffy about buying this shampoo because I like and need to see suds. Although it is a Low-Poo (lathering) shampoo is works up a nice consistency. It is concentrated, as well, so you only need a little bit to get the job done. It leaves my hair feeling soft and clean.
No-Poo Shampoo is a conditioning cleanser – absolutely no suds, absolutely no lather. I find myself using this product every day because it makes my hair feel so good. The first time I applied it I thought to myself this is not going to work for me. After a few seconds of rubbing it on my hair and against my scalp, my head/hair started to feel refreshed and clean. I felt a bit of a tingle, that refreshing tingle that lets you know the product is doing something good. I rinsed my hair to be left speechless. The only down fall is that I find myself using a lot of this product to compensate for the lather. Other than that I love, love, love this product.
This conditioner reminds me of sorbet ice cream. Push the top down and smell the Orange! It’s Vitamin-C enriched which only makes me more intrigued to use it. It’s thick which gives you nice coverage on the tresses, therefore you don’t need a lot of the product. I don’t see myself using any other conditioner, this definitely does the job with hydrating the hair and making it tangle free.
AG Re:Coil and DevaCare Arc AnGell are both curl enhancing and defining products. I always use them together. AG Re:Coil helps define the curls, giving them a nice shape and shine. Usually, I leave the AG RE:Coil on for about 5-7mins before applying Arc AnGell on top of it so the curls will have a nice shape and texture to them. I apply Arc AnGell to set the curls in place. This give the curl a nice hold without the hard, sticky feeling. At the end of the day there’s no flaking. Both of these products work well together. Make sure you remove excess moisture from the hair and use only what’s needed of the product otherwise it will take forever to dry.
Honestly, when I look at my curls I know I made some pretty good choices with the products this time around. Im still interested in trying a few other brands but for now Ill be sticking to these six products.

I’ve been wanting to transition for years, going from relaxed to natural hair. I would start to transition but get annoyed with the two textures, which lead to me relaxing my new growth. Yesterday I was over it, took the big step and cut the damn relaxer OFF.
